Founded in 2018, Lucky Jefferson is a literary journal and trove that confronts the challenges poets face as they seek publication and exposure to new readers. Readers can expect work that tackles the intersection of freedom and poverty, bliss and pain, and triumph and heartache.
Lucky Jefferson breathes life into mistakes, forges fire with passion, and challenges raw emotion buried deep within ourselves and greater communities.
We target poets who have never been published, especially those who sought to pursue poetry and writing later in life. We also provide an opportunity for young writers to build an audience and confidence in their work. We believe the marginalized voices deserve a platform too and that anyone should be able to pursue what calls them most.
Beginning on October 1, 2019, you can expect to enjoy our publications quarterly or four times a year.
