There are words in the English language
that are especially beautiful:
For example,
it occurred to me recently
that I thought fondly of
Cape Town
because both words were so
pleasing to the ear.
Cape Town.
There are other words, too –
combinations of words.
Equator, Gothic, Patella, Rose.
Peekskill Hollow, Honeydew Melon.
I Love You.
I sit in the car’s passenger seat,
watching the green flow by,
hearing the words over and over,
like waves rolling over the hills.
